National Institutes of Health http://ripr.org en $18.8 Million Awarded to URI Research Collaborative http://ripr.org/post/188-million-awarded-uri-research-collaborative <p>A biomedical research program based at the University of Rhode Island has received $18.8 million in new grant funding from the National Institutes of Health.</p><p>Created in 2001, The Rhode Island IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (RI-INBRE), was intended to expand the state's biomedical research capacity. The money will fund research into new treatments.</p><p></p><p>The Miriam is the state’s largest provider of HIV and AIDS care. The grant of $2.4 million dollars is a renewal that will help the institution continue its work as part of a multi-site aids research consortium, called the AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG) Network.
