The workers are being represented the Service Employees International Union, Local 1199.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Local 1199’s executive vice present, Patrick Quinn, recently sent a letter to state administration director Richard Licht, request a meeting to begin the process of bargaining.</p><p></p><p>More than 500 home-based child care workers are now represented by Local 1199. The layoffs, and the dispute, turn on the definition of a single word: deliveries.</p><p>Members of the Service Employees International Union local 1199 are picketing outside Women and Infants over the hospital’s decision to cut several cleaning, lab, and clinical staff.
