PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Rhode Island's unemployment rate edged down slightly in October.
Rhode Island's October unemployment rate was 11.4 percent, a decrease of one tenth of a percent from the September rate. It was the eighth consecutive monthly decline and the lowest rate since July 2009.
The number of unemployed residents now stands at 65,300. Over the year the number of jobless residents has decreased by almost 5,000 - the largest yearly decline in 15 years.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The days when you had to go to New York to see the Rockettes and the famous Christmas show at Radio City are over, at least for this year. The Rockettes have come to Providence and Bill Gale went to check out the hoopla.
The Radio City Christmas Spectacular continues at the Providence Performing Arts Center though November 28. It then plays Boston's Wang Theatre December 3rd through the 29th.
