Lorne Adrain plans to formally announce his campaign for mayor of Providence Monday. Adrain is the latest in a string of candidates to join the race.
Adrain serves as the managing director for a financial advisory firm based in Waltham, Massachusetts. He grew up in Warwick as a son of Canadian immigrants, and now lives in the Fox Point section of Providence with his wife, the novelist Ann Hood. Adrain has been active in community service and he’s a former chairman of the Rhode Island Board of Governors for Higher Education. He says he’s running because he wants to help move Providence forward.
The other candidates in the race are fellow Democrats Michael Solomon, Brett Smiley, Jorge Elorza, Christopher Young, and Republican Daniel Harrop.
