A.G.'s office shuts down Cranston fitness club
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A Cranston fitness club has been shut down for a month by the Attorney General's office.
The 30 day suspension was imposed on Extreme Fitness health club for filing false documentation with the attorney general's office.
State law requires health clubs to register annually. Renewals must include a certificate from the local fire department confirming the facility is in compliance with the local fire code.
The attorney general's office says the owner of Extreme Fitness doctored an out-of-date certificate to make it look current.
