Since the mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando, local lawmakers, public officials, and leaders in the LGBTQ community have spoken about the impact in Rhode Island. Younger members of the community are also sharing their feelings and desire for action.

Rhode Island Public Radio producer Alex Braunstein spoke with members of Youth Pride (YPI), a safe space for LGBTQ teens and young adults in Providence, about how the attacks have affected them.

Braunstein spoke with 17-year-old Sam Minor, 22-year-old Jesus Holguin, 15-year -old Brenlee Nunez, and 17-year-old Fernando Gonzalez.
