PROVIDENCE, RI – The Rhode Island Association of Realtors says single-family homes sales were up in August, but the median price dropped.
Single-family homes sales were up by 22 percent in August compared to last year, but the median price dropped nearly 7 percent. In terms of actual numbers, that's 670 home sales in August with a median price of $205,000.
The Rhode Island Association of Realtors says fewer homes went on the market last month compared to a year ago, but more of them have pending sales.
Home sales numbers have been on the climb since falling sharply in July of 2010 after the federal tax credit expired.
