Cathoic College Theologians must teach Church Doctrine

wrni – Some new rules went into effect this weekend that could affect education at the nation's 238 catholic colleges and universities. The rule, from the U.S. Conference of Bishops, requires all Catholic Theologians to promise to teach according to Church doctrine. Each theologian now has to receive a "mandatum" from a local bishop that affirms that promise. Although there has been controversy over the mandatum, officials at both of Rhode Island's catholic colleges say there has been no problem with its implementation.
