Central Falls library seeking new director

Providence, RI – The Adams Memorial Library in Central Falls is looking for a new director. As Rhode Island Public Radio's Flo Jonic reports, it's a job full of challenges.

It has no paid staff or reliable stream of funding, but the Adams Memorial Library in Central Falls is looking for a director nonetheless. Pablo Sandoval, president of the Central Falls Library Board, says a key function of the job will be to raise money. "We do expect that person to be active in fundraising not only within the business community in Central Falls and other places but also to agencies, federal and state," he says.

The bankrupt city of Central Falls shut the library down in July when funding dried up. It re-opened a month later with volunteers and donations and is now up to six days a week.
