PROVIDENCE, RI – Governor Lincoln Chafee scrapped plans Tuesday to attend a National Governors Association meeting in Connecticut. The governor's office says the governor decided to work instead on a pension reform proposal.
Chafee and state Treasurer Gina Raimondo are expected to release their pension plan later this week or next week.
Chafee's office says the governor sees comprehensive pension overhaul as a key for returning Rhode Island to prosperity.
