RIPR political reporter Ian Donnis has learned that Darin Early, COO of the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation, is leaving in January and will be replaced by Jesse Saglio, according to commerce secretary, Stefan Pryor.
“Darin has made many valuable contributions to the commerce team’s efforts – and to the progress our state’s economy is making under Gov. Raimondo,” said Pryor in a statement.
Early was crucial to the reorganization of the Commerce Corporation and the creation of the Business Development unit, Pryor said.
Saglio, a Westerly native who currently lives in Hopkinton, has been running the investment team at the Commerce Corporation and has extensive financial experience in the public and private sectors. He has been an investment banker and served as director of the IG Investment Program for the U.S. Department of Treasury.
