It’s documented in a book by former Brown University professor James Patterson, Eve of Destruction.

James Patterson is emeritus history professor at Brown University and the author of Eve of Destruction, which argues that what we think of as the cultural, political and social upheavals that are known as the 60’s actually didn’t begin until 1965.
