Providence, R.I. – Flags are flying at half staff in Massachusetts in honor of Scott Andrews, of Fall River, who was killed Monday in Afghanistan.
Scott Andrews was so proud of being in the Army he treated his uniform with kid gloves. This, according to Fall River veterans agent Manual DaPonte who spoke to Andrews' family Monday.
Andrews died of wounds from an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to an engineering unit based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was scheduled to come home in October, says Daponte.
Andrews had just turned 21 on Memorial Day. He's the second Fall River man to die in Afghanistan in as many months.
