The state health department has launched an online survey for Rhode Islanders to rank their health care experiences. The results will be used as part of an effort to bring down costs and boost quality. They’ll also help officials decide whether new healthcare facilities and services are needed.
The online questionnaire aims to uncover how Rhode Islanders feel about the health care they receive, whether it’s accessible and affordable, and whether they actually seek care when they need it. The survey takes about five minutes and it’s anonymous. It asks how easy it is to find a doctor, or be seen at a local emergency room. Other questions include the cost of health insurance deductibles and co-pays, and whether you’ve ever put off health care because of the cost.
Health officials say they also plan to gather input on specific health problems like addiction and the need for safe places to exercise.
