Providence, R.I. – It's slightly cooler today, but you wouldn't know it. The temperature in Providence is in the mid-90s, but the humidity makes it feel like 100 to 104 degrees. A little relief is on the way tomorrow, though, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Charlie Foley.
"This will be the last of the brutal heat, however, for the rest of the week temperatures will be higher than normal," Foley says. "The humidity will be moderately moderate. It won't be in the oppressive range."
The Weather Service has issued a heat advisory stating that people should avoid prolonged work in the sun or in poorly ventilated areas and should drink plenty of fluids and try to stay in air-conditioned environments.
