PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Arson fires, mob deals, corrupt politicians and an investigative journalist in the middle of it all. That sums up Rogue Island, the debut novel by former Providence Journal scribe Bruce DeSilva. It's due to be released next month, but earlier this week DeSilva met with WRNI's Bob Seay in downtown Providence to discuss his book. The protagonist is a newspaper reporter named Liam Mulligan and, as DeSilva explains, the plot was partly inspired by his own experiences as a reporter in Rhode Island.
