InterLink opens at T.F. Green Airport
By CATHERINE WELCH
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The new multi-modal transportation facility at T.F. Green airport is now officially open.
Known as InterLink, the new facility consolidates rental car companies, bus service, and commuter train platforms at a new six-story parking garage.
Travelers will exit the airport and take series of escalators and elevators up to the skyway that stretches to the garage and InterLink.
Six daily MBTA commuter trains are expected to start rolling into the facility later this fall, connecting Warwick and Boston. That will jump to ten trains once the train station in Wickford opens late next year.
The state says construction on the InterLink project injected $127-million into the state's economy.
