Providence, RI – Jury selection began Wednesday in the corruption trial of Providence Mayor Vincent A. Cianci Jr. The trial of Cianci and three other defendents is expected to take about two months. Also on trial are Cianci's former top aide, Frank Corrente, tow operator Richard Autiello; and businessman Edward Voccola.
Judge Ernest Torres with defense lawyers and prosecutors will choose 12 jurors and 6 alternates.
Some legal analysts suggest jury selection will among the most important parts of the entire trial.
