Providence, RI – Superintendent Diana Lam is becoming a target of many groups unhappy about her management of the Providence Schools. The Providence Teachers Union voted down a contract that would have made them the highest paid teachers in the state. Union leaders complained about Lam exercising too much control.
Some minority activists are now complaining that under Lam's tenure, too many black administrators have left the school system.
