RIPR – Try to think back to your life as a teenager. Most of us were doing our best to sort out the complicated and chronically confusing world that was unfolding before our eyes, often at a dizzying pace. But, as 14-year-old Lily Maris tells us, to truly understand our world we need to use more than our eyes. We also need to listen with our ears - very, very carefully.
Lily Maris was adopted from China in 2000. She is in the eighth grade at The Gordon School in East Providence. Lily says she likes to think of herself as an artist who is growing and changing all the time while she listens, very carefully, to the sounds around her.
