A look back at Carcieri's eight years in office

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – After eight years in office, outgoing Republican Governor Don Carcieri is handing over the reins of state government to Independent Lincoln Chafee. Carcieri came to the office from a background in business and has since had to navigate through the response to the Station Nightclub Fire, an infamous State Police raid on a Narragansett Indian smoke shop and the troubled economy. WRNI Political Analyst Scott MacKay spoke with Carcieri at the State House this week for the governor's final interview with WRNI. They began discussing the state of the Rhode Island GOP.
