A look back at the history of the governorship in RI

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Later today, independent Lincoln Chafee will be sworn in as the next governor of the state of Rhode Island. He'll join a long list dating back all the way to 1663. We wanted to get some perspective on past inauguration days and the history of the governor's office in Rhode Island, so we called Pat Conley, the author of many books on Rhode Island history, constitutional lawyer, and local developer.
