Mob members testify in strip club extortion case

PROVIDENCE, RI – Federal prosecutors say New England mob members have agreed to testify against their alleged counterparts accused of extorting Rhode Island strip clubs. Detention motions filed in U.S. District Court show several members of the New England mob cooperated in the case against Edward Lato and Alfred Scivola. The two men are charged with continuing the extortion operation ran by former alleged mob boss Luigi "Baby Shacks" Manocchio. Their detention hearings are scheduled for Thursday. Both men have pleaded not guilty.
