Warwick Republican Joe Trillo is staging a public event Tuesday, which he describes as a forum to discuss Rhode Island’s future.
The former lawmaker is considering a campaign for governor. It’s unclear if Trillo plans to announce a run at the event.
Trillo is 74. He served 16 years as a state rep before deciding not to seek re-election last year. Trillo was the honorary chairman of President Trump’s presidential campaign.
Cranston Mayor Allan Fung is expected to make another run for governor in 2018. Other potential GOP candidates include West Warwick state Rep. Patricia Morgan; businessman Ken Block; and entrepreneur Giovanni Feroce
