NECAP testing starts in Rhode Island

Providence, R.I. – Standardized state tests known as the New England Common Assessment Program begin Friday in some Rhode Island public schools. Districts have until October 22nd to administer the annual exams, which cover English, writing and Mathematics.

Students from 3rd to 8th grade and 11th grade must take the tests. This is the first year that 11th graders must achieve a score of partially proficient or better under new state graduation requirements.
