Netscape co-founder donates to Newport charities
Providence, RI – A pair of Newport marine charities has received large donations co-founder of the internet company Netscape Jim Clark. Both Sail Newport and Oliver Hazard Perry Rhode Island received 150-thousand dollar donations. Sail Newport teaches sailing to beginners, and will use the money to buy new boats and fund scholarships. Oliver Hazard Perry will put the money toward its education programs. Clark races J-class yachts and told the non-profits that he wanted to invest in sailing charities.
