PROVIDENCE, RI. – Rhode Island is getting a half million dollars from the federal transportation department to replace a bridge in East Greenwich.
The bridge is known by the number 435. It's located on Davisville Road and spans Frenchtown Brook.
The project is expected to out to bid in late summer. Construction would begin late this year or early next year.
The $520,000 appropriation is one of 15 projects selected for funding by the Federal Highway Administration to encourage the use of construction technology that is not widely practiced.
