A new art exhibit opened this past Wednesday (1/30) at Green Space gallery at T.F. Green Airport in Warwick.
The show, entitled “ON AND THROUGH AND IN BETWEEN” deals with dreams and memories, and features the work of two Rhode Island artists says the gallery director Lynne Harlow.
"Deborah Baronas and Graham Heffernan both make really elegant work, and they use a lot of layering and concerns about light and space to make what they make. But they also work in significantly different ways. I think there’s a great conversation between their works for that reason."
The gallery, which displays the work of Rhode Island artists, showcases an important part of the state, says Harlow.
"In Rhode Island we have so many artists, artisans, creative design people, it’s such a part of the state’s identity. So I think it’s especially appropriate that for anybody who either lives here, or somebody who is traveling through and isn’t as familiar with the state, it’s a chance to understand a little bit more about a huge part of what Rhode Island is."
The exhibit is operated by the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts and the Rhode Island Airport Corporation. There is an open call for work by Rhode Island Artists for inclusion at Green Space once a year. You can be notified of the call by signing up for the RISCA mailing list.
"ON AND THROUGH AND IN BETWEEN" will be on display through April 30th.
