New Federal Funds for Southside Community Landtrust
The Southside Community Land Trust was selected to receive over $250,000 in federal grant money to support urban agriculture and refugee resettlement in Providence. The organization focuses on teaching community members how to turn underutilized land into sustainable sources of food and revenue.
The land trust was one of eleven organizations nationwide to receive grant money. The funding will allow the organization to formally develop a curriculum in urban agriculture that will teach new refugees how to grow food in Rhode Island for their family and communities.
