Pawtucket mill blaze ruled arson

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A $10,000 reward is being offered for the arrest and conviction of whomever set fire to a Pawtucket mill complex last week. The blaze at the former Union Wadding Company has been ruled a case of arson, according to state fire marshal Jack Chartier.

"This fire was definitely arson," Chartier says. "We have multiple points of origin within the building and we're calling it that and we're seeking any information the public might have to assist us in that investigation."

Chartier declined to say if an accelerant was used. The mill was being rehabbed into apartments. The occupied portion of the building was not destroyed.
