Warwick police suspect alcohol may have played a role in the mysterious deaths of a 39-year-old woman and her three-year-old son.
Kathleen and Ryan Frink were found dead in a parked car in Warwick Saturday. The car was hot and there was evidence the mother had vomited. Warwick police Captain Robert Nelson said Frink’s family reports she had a history of alcoholism.
“Due to statements made by the family that she had some substance abuse problems in the past and alcohol being one of the substances, we are looking at that,” said Nelson. “And we are making determinations and we’ll wait to see if the medical examiner follows up with a report that will substantiate those claims.”
Nelson said they’re awaiting the results of toxicology tests, which could take a week or more. Police have ruled out foul play.
