Providence City Council sworn in

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Michael Solomon is the unanimous choice for Providence City Council president. He and his 14 colleagues were sworn in Monday at City Hall.

Democrat Terrence Hassett made his first public appearance since being seriously injured by a hit and run driver back in October. Hassett was elected President Pro-Tem by the council.

The baby of Councilwoman Sabina Matos was injured when a speaker at the ceremony toppled over. The extent of the baby's injuries is unknown.
