Recycling facility could lose license

PROVIDENCE, RI – The state has issued a notice that it will suspend the license of an East Providence recycling facility if it can't prove that it's in compliance with the city.

The Department of Environmental Management issued the notice to TLA Pond View. The DEM says it sent the notice to comply with a recently amended law that requires a demolition and construction debris facility like Pond View to have a letter of compliance from the municipality it's located in, in order to operate or be issued a license. The City of East Providence has issued a violation notice to Pond View after residents complained of problems with dust and noise. Now Pond View must show DEM officials its letter of compliance by January 4th.
