Home sales in Rhode Island held steady last month.  July was the eight month of increased year over year sales.

That was largely bolstered by the 14 percent increase in single family home sales for the month of July, from a year ago.  The median price of those homes also rose ten percent, reaching $239,000.

Foreclosures in the state were down 25 percent.

The numbers are part of the latest report from the Rhode Island Association of Realtors. The association says the strong month, was reinforced by increased activity in other housing markets. That includes condo sales which jumped 28 percent, and 35 percent increase the sale of multi-family homes.
