Rhode Islander Hopes To Immortalize Cartoon Dog In Providence

As you may or may not know, the TV show “Family Guy” killed off the family dog Brian Griffin. Thousands of fans are petitioning online to bring Brian back.

But one Providence resident is hoping to do more.

"Let’s strike while the iron is hot, and get a really dope statue in the city of Providence," said David Rocha in his online plea to get a statue in Providence.

That really dope statue he wants is of everyone’s favorite sarcastic martini swilling cartoon dog, Brian Griffin.

But why Providence? Well, Family Guy takes place in the fictional town of Quahog, Rhode Island, but the skyline looks an awful lot like Providence.

Rocha has created a page on a crowd-funding website and hopes to raise ten thousand dollars for the project.

If he raises the money he hopes the city will allow the Brian Griffin statue to stand proudly on a parcel of open I-195 land.

So far the city has not said whether it would like to see a statue of the pseudo-intellectual cartoon canine in the state’s Creative Capital.
