Providence, R.I. – Rhode Island is one of 16 states that have signed onto a letter asking Craigslist to remove the adult services section from its website.
Attorney General Patrick Lynch says prostitution and child pornography services can still be found on the website, despite Craigslist's promise to police its listings.
Craigslist's adult services section came under scrutiny when a Massachusetts man was accused of killing a masseuse he met on the site. That man - Phillip Markoff - recently committed suicide in a Boston jail.
