As flooding from tropical storm Harvey worsens in Houston and begins to affect nearby states, New England continues to pitch in for relief efforts.

The Rhode Island Blood Center is urging residents to provide donations in order to prevent blood shortages in the Gulf Coast.

RIBC officials said they have already sent 345 donations to Texas blood centers.

The New England Patriots organization said it will match up to $1 million in donations to the American Red Cross.

In a press release, New England Patriots Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft spoke of the team’s attachment to Houston.

“The New England Patriots and our fans have celebrated two of our franchise’s greatest and most memorable moments in Houston,” Kraft said.

The team won two Super Bowl titles in Houston.
