R.I. Lead Paint Case Begins

Providence, RI – Opening statements begin today in the case of Rhode Island versus lead-paint manufacturers. The state has sued eight paint companies, claiming they knew decades ago that their product was harmful to children. In that way, the case resembles suits filed against tobacco companies. And it's the latest in a rash of suits by aggressive attorneys general against corporate America.
