RI medical board suspends doctor

PROVIDENCE, RI – The Rhode Island Board of Medical Licensure and Discipline has suspended the practicing rights of a local doctor.

Over the past eight years Robert Paolella has faced several disciplinary charges, including making false entries in patient records and giving out prescriptions without having complete medical records.

Most recently, he was admitted to a psychiatric unit after police found him barricaded in his home and in possession of several firearms.

Paolella has been a licensed physician in Rhode Island since 1991.
