RI single family home sales improve

PROVIDENCE, RI – Single family homes sales improved from May to June but still lag behind a year ago.

Both sales and prices of single family homes rose from May to June but are down from a year ago.

According to the Rhode Island Association of Realtors, sales were up 16 percent month to month but down 22 percent from June 2010.

The median price rose two percent for the month to $215,000 which is two percent lower than a year ago.

Condo sales rose 18 percent from May to June but declined 21 percent from a year ago.

The June median condo sale price was $200,000 which is up from the previous month and from the prior year.
