PROVIDENCE, R.I. – That Arctic blast we experienced last week is consistent with what meteorologists have been forecasting for southern New England this winter.
Cold weather early, followed by milder weather as the winter wears on. That's what long range meteorologist Joseph D'Aleo is forecasting for southern New England.
"It'll be coldest early, then I think the mildest weather will tend to be later in the winter but very cold at times ..especially this month into January," D'Aleo says.
Snowfall for southern New England is expected to be at or below normal but the ski areas of New Hampshire and Vermont shouldn't have any complaints. And D'Aleo says there's a very good chance all of New England will enjoy a white Christmas.
