Ranking member Senator Sheldon Whitehouse and chair of the Senate Judiciary’s subcommittee on crime and terrorism Senator Lindsey Graham, Republican of South Carolina, have asked the head of the FBI and the acting Attorney General to release information on the alleged wiretapping of then-candidate Donald Trump and his residence, Trump Tower.

They’re asking for copies of any warrant applications or court orders for such wiretapping in an effort to get to the bottom of the allegations Trump made in a Tweet recently. The Obama administration has denied giving any such order.

Whitehouse and Graham say they take such allegations seriously, as they would any evidence that a wiretap turned up evidence of criminal activity or contact with a foreign government.
