State Climate Change Council Welcomes New Faces

Feb 11, 2015

The Executive Climate Change Coordinating Council, or EC4 for short, meets today for the first time this year.  New faces will join the meeting.

The EC4 brings directors together from several state agencies to plan for the effects of climate change. With changes in leadership at some agencies, the EC4 will welcome new members. This meeting will also be the first time staff members from the Governor’s office will attend. The council will hear from the state health department about its latest report, laying out the health effects of climate change in Rhode Island. They’ll also hear more about impacts from intense storm events. The next meeting is scheduled in March, which marks the 5-year anniversary of the historic 2010 floods.
