Suspended police officer faces up to 20 years in prison

PROVIDENCE, RI – A suspended Lincoln police officer has been found guilty of battery with a dangerous weapon for kicking a handcuffed woman outside a slot parlor two-and-a-half years ago.

A judge returned the verdict after hearing testimony that Edward Krawetz kicked the woman as she waited on a curb for a cruiser to take her to the police station. She was being booked on a disorderly conduct charge.

Krawetz will be sentenced March 19th. He faces up to 20 years in prison.
