T.F. Green clears FAA hurdle
Providence, RI – By MEGAN HALL
T.F. Green Airport is one step closer to expanding its runway. On Tuesday the Federal Aviation Administration released its final report on the proposed construction project.
Kevin Dillon with the Rhode Island Airport Corporation says he's never seen the FAA issue a positive environmental impact statement or EIS report without eventually approving of the project.
"So, we are fully anticipating a positive record of decision based on what we see in this final EIS document," he says.
Dillon expects the FAA to issue its final decision on the project in August or September. He says the airport expansion project won't begin until next summer at the earliest.
