State police say a wrong way driver killed himself and two other people in a Sunday morning crash.
Police say Aldo Almanzar of North Smithfield was not only driving the wrong way down Route 146 but was unlicensed and not buckled up either. He drove more than a mile southbound in the northbound lanes when he collided with a car driven by a Worcester man. Almanzar and two passengers in the Worcester man’s car were killed. The dead passengers have been identified as Alexis Correa and Isabel Vasquez, both 22 year old Worcester women. Almanzar, the wrong way driver, was 39. Police are investigating if speed or alcohol were factors.
