Thundermist CEO resigns

Providence, RI – The CEO of Thundermist Health Center is quitting her job to move to Iowa. The head of the group of health care centers for low income Rhode Islanders is joining her husband in Des Moines.

Maria Montanero has been the leader of Thundermist for 14 years. When her husband got a dream job working in the Mid-west, she decided it was time to leave the Ocean State. Montanaro isn't sure what she'll be doing in Iowa.

"I'm not planning to retire, but I am planning on taking a break so that I can build a new life with my husband," she says.

Montanaro will stay on as CEO until June 17th. After that, she'll work as a consultant to help the health centers find a new leader. Chuck Jones, the executive director of Thundermist's Woonsocket branch, will be her temporary replacement.
