PROVIDENCE, RI – Local non-profit Thundermist health center is expanding its West Warwick facilities with a new site.
Thundermist has locations throughout the state offering medical, dental, and social services. The opening at the Cotton Shed on Providence Street was prompted by increased demand at the original West Warwick site.
Interim CEO Chuck Jones says the new site will focus primarily on medical and community programs, while the older location will provide dental services.
"What we're doing right now in West Warwick is a perfect example of the types of solutions in primary care medical homes that are going to work down the overall cost of health care in this country," he says. "We're proud to be remaining on the cutting edge of that."
The opening Monday morning included speeches from senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse, as well as Lt. Governor Elizabeth Roberts.
