Providence, RI – Traffic is flowing across the Pontiac Avenue Bridge in Cranston for the first time in about a month.
The Rhode Island Department of Transportation's Charles St. Martin says the bridge reopened at noon on Wednesday. Crews had been repairing damage done to the bridge during the March floods.
Some other repairs were made as well, so Rhode Island DOT is lifting a ten ton weight limit and allowing buses and trucks to use the bridge again, St. Martin says.
