Union official: "The state went too far in making changes"

PROVIDENCE, RI – A series of unions is suing the state in Superior Court, trying to undo last year's pension overhaul. A decision in the court case is expected before the start of the next fiscal year in July 2013.

National Education Association Rhode Island director Robert Walsh is one of those objecting to the methods used in overhauling the pension system. He spoke with Rhode Island Public Radio political reporter Ian Donnis.

Tuesday we'll hear from the person who spearheaded the overhaul of Rhode Island's pension system, state Treasurer Gina Raimondo.
